Mackie ProFX12v3+ 12-Channel Analog Mixer

The Mackie ProFX12v3+ is a 12-channel professional analog mixer with a built-in USB-C audio interface for recording, streaming, podcasting, and live sound. It brings microphones, instruments, playback devices, Bluetooth audio, and computer sound together on one hands-on control surface. This makes it a practical choice for small bands, home studios, creators, and event systems that need flexible audio routing without separate interface hardware.

Seven Onyx microphone preamps provide up to 60 dB of gain for microphones and other low-level sources. Every channel includes 3-band EQ, while channels 1 through 4 add one-knob compression for straightforward dynamic control. Channels 1 and 2 also support Hi-Z operation, allowing compatible guitars or basses to connect directly without a separate DI box.

The integrated GigFX+ effects engine provides digital effects within an analog mixer workflow. Its full-color LCD enables effect selection, editing, and preset saving directly from the mixer. This gives vocalists, instruments, and live mixes access to processing without requiring an external effects unit.

For computer audio, the ProFX12v3+ includes a 24-bit/192 kHz 2x4 USB-C interface with Standard, Loopback, and Interface recording modes. Standard mode captures the full mix, Loopback combines computer and mixer audio for streaming, and Interface mode records channels 1 and 2 without effects processing. A dedicated blend control supports monitoring between direct mixer audio and USB return audio.

Bi-directional Bluetooth provides a dedicated path for wireless playback and compatible phone-call integration. Separate monitor, FX, and subgroup busses support stage-monitor feeds, external processing, and secondary output routing. Main, control-room, subgroup, headphone, and USB connections allow the mixer to serve as a central hub for a compact live or recording system.

Design & Installation

The ProFX12v3+ uses a solid steel chassis with ABS side protection for regular studio, mobile-production, and live-event use. Its top-panel layout places gain, EQ, sends, routing controls, and faders within easy reach. A full-color LCD provides direct control of the onboard GigFX+ effects section.

Connect microphones and line-level sources to the channel inputs, then feed powered speakers, amplifiers, studio monitors, or external processors from the appropriate outputs. The main outputs can feed powered speakers or an amplifier connected to passive speakers; the mixer does not directly power passive speakers. Use the USB-C connection for computer recording and playback, and use the Bluetooth channel or 1/8-inch stereo input for compatible mobile playback sources.
