Mackie DLZ-CREATOR Adaptive Digital Podcast Mixer

The Mackie DLZ-CREATOR is an adaptive digital mixer for podcasting, livestreaming, YouTube production, and other creator-focused audio workflows. It combines microphone inputs, source mixing, monitoring, processing, recording, and computer interfacing in one desktop control surface. This can simplify a setup that might otherwise require separate mixer, recorder, and USB audio-interface components.

It is designed for both first-time creators and experienced users who want more detailed mix control. Easy, Enhanced, and Pro work modes change the on-screen workflow to match the user's experience level and production needs. Mix Agent guides channel configuration, input gain setup, and headphone-output setup.

Four Onyx80 microphone preamps provide up to 80 dB of gain, giving the mixer useful range for microphones used in spoken-word productions. AutoMix manages levels for up to four microphones, reducing unused-channel levels to help keep group conversations more consistent. Built-in channel processing includes a high-pass filter, 3-band parametric EQ, noise gate, de-esser, compressor, reverb, and delay.

The DLZ-CREATOR uses a 10.1-inch, high-resolution color touchscreen with an anti-glare coating, together with physical controls for hands-on operation. Its control surface includes nine 100 mm faders, five dynamically color-coded rotary controls, backlit buttons, and sample pads. Dedicated controls support functions including recording, mute, solo, speaker mute, AutoMix, and sample playback.

For computer-based recording or streaming, the DLZ-CREATOR operates as a 14x4 USB-C audio interface for Mac and PC. It can also record multitrack audio directly to supported microSD media or a compatible USB-A removable drive, allowing a computer-free recording workflow. Bluetooth connectivity supports a stereo bidirectional channel and mix-minus operation with a connected smartphone for call-in guests.

Design & Installation

Mackie does not publish a chassis-material specification for the DLZ-CREATOR. The desktop mixer combines a 10.1-inch anti-glare color touchscreen with nine 100 mm faders, five color-coded rotary controls, backlit buttons, and sample pads. A hard power switch and locking power connector support a stable dedicated production setup.

Connect microphones, instruments, or line-level sources to the four XLR/TRS combo inputs, then connect powered speakers or an amplifier to the balanced/unbalanced 1/4-inch main outputs. Headphones connect through four stereo headphone outputs, while a computer connects through USB-C for interface operation. For standalone recording, use supported microSDHC or microSDXC media, or a FAT32 USB-A removable drive meeting Mackie's stated speed requirement.
