The Mackie DL32SE is a 32-channel digital rack mixer designed for live sound, installed performance systems, rehearsal spaces, and compact recording setups. Its stagebox-style format places the I/O and mixing engine in a 4U rack-ready chassis rather than in a conventional surface mixer. The system is controlled through Mackie's Master Fader SE app on compatible mobile devices and computers. This approach helps place the mixer close to performers, microphones, and instruments while allowing the engineer to mix from another location.

With 32 Onyx+ microphone preamps, the DL32SE is suited to bands, houses of worship, venues, production teams, and other systems that need substantial input capacity in a compact format. Sixteen inputs use balanced XLR connectors, while another 16 use XLR/TRS combo connectors. Inputs 31 and 32 also support Hi-Z instrument connection with unbalanced instrument cables. Individual 48V phantom-power control supports the use of condenser microphones where required.

Each input channel includes processing for practical live mixing, including a 4-band parametric EQ, high-pass filter, gate, compressor, and RTA/Spectrograph tools. The DL32SE provides 10 output busses with output EQ, filters, 31-band graphic EQ, compressor/limiter, alignment delay, and analysis tools. Eight aux sends can be stereo-linked for monitor and effects-routing flexibility. Four stereo effects processors provide dedicated sends and returns for reverbs, delays, choruses, flangers, and other effects.

The DL32SE operates at a 48 kHz sample rate with 24-bit A/D/A conversion and specifies 1.5 ms analog-input-to-analog-output system latency through the main bus. Its USB 2.0 interface provides 32 inputs and 32 outputs for multitrack recording, playback, virtual soundchecks, and computer-based production. A dedicated stereo return channel can receive playback material from the connected computer. Waveform OEM software and the DAW Essentials plugin bundle are included for recording and production workflows.

For system integration, the DL32SE offers 10 fully assignable balanced XLR outputs plus a 1/4-inch stereo headphone output. It connects by Ethernet to a wireless router of the user's choice, allowing Master Fader SE control from iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows devices. Up to 20 devices can control the mixer simultaneously, with access-limiting tools available to restrict user permissions. It can serve as a front-of-house, monitor, stage, or recording hub in a rack-based audio system.

Design & Installation

The DL32SE uses a compact stagebox-style chassis with an integrated handle and included rack ears for 4U rack mounting. Its front-panel connection layout keeps 32 analog inputs, 10 XLR outputs, headphone monitoring, network connection, USB connection, and power access together in a focused rack-mixer format. The product measures 7.3 inches high, 16.3 inches wide, and 5.2 inches deep, with a weight of 8.8 pounds.

Install the mixer in a rack with adequate space for front-panel cabling and use the included rack ears for mounting. Connect microphones and line sources to the analog inputs, route output busses to powered speakers, amplifiers, monitors, or processing equipment, and connect Ethernet to a compatible wireless router for remote control. For multitrack recording or playback, connect a Mac or Windows computer to the USB-B port and use the appropriate supported operating system.
