The Mackie THUMP15v4 is a self-powered 15-inch two-way PA loudspeaker designed for portable live sound, DJ playback, presentations, rehearsal spaces, and stage-monitor use. Its built-in amplification and onboard mixer reduce the need for separate power amplification in small to mid-size sound setups. It is a practical option for musicians, DJs, event hosts, schools, houses of worship, and venues needing a flexible full-range speaker.

A 15-inch ferrite woofer and 1-inch high-temperature polymeric compression driver provide broad full-range coverage. The speaker is rated for a 41 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response at -3 dB, extends to 34 Hz at -10 dB, and reaches up to 130 dB peak SPL. Its 1400-watt peak Class-D amplifier system is divided between the low- and high-frequency drivers for powered operation without an external amplifier.

SoundCheck DSP provides four selectable voicing modes: Flat, DJ, Live, and Wedge. These modes help adapt the THUMP15v4 for neutral playback, music-focused playback, vocal and event reinforcement, or floor-monitor placement. Outdoor Mode, Music Ducking, and Feedback Eliminator provide additional setup tools for common live-sound situations.

The built-in two-channel mixer accepts microphones and line-level equipment through two XLR/TRS combo inputs. Channel 1 includes a mic/line switch, while channel 2 also includes a 1/8-inch TRS input for playback devices. A balanced XLR mix output can feed another loudspeaker, and Bluetooth audio can operate alongside connected analog sources.

Bluetooth 5.0 supports wireless streaming, speaker linking, and control through the Thump Connect 2 app. Two compatible THUMP15v4 loudspeakers can be linked wirelessly for stereo, zone, or dual-mono playback. The speaker can be used on the floor, mounted on a suitable pole, flown by qualified installers using its M10 points, or paired with a subwoofer for expanded low-frequency output.

Design & Installation

The THUMP15v4 uses a rugged portable enclosure with premium metal handles for carrying. Its amplifier sections use convection cooling, while peak and RMS limiting plus thermal protection help safeguard the loudspeaker system during operation. Status LEDs indicate key speaker functions, Bluetooth and link status, and signal or overload conditions.

Place the speaker upright on the floor, use it on its side at its 40-degree monitor angle, or mount it on a properly rated speaker pole using the cabinet's bottom socket. For permanent or suspended installation, use the three integrated M10 mounting points with specified forged shoulder eyebolts and qualified installation personnel. Connect microphones or line-level gear to the combo inputs, connect AC power, and use the XLR mix output to feed an additional wired loudspeaker.
