Mackie THUMPSUBGO 8" Battery-Powered Portable Subwoofer

The Mackie ThumpSub GO is a portable, battery-powered subwoofer designed to add low-frequency support to compact PA systems where AC power may not be available. Its dual 8-inch woofer design helps extend the bass response of compatible portable powered loudspeakers. It is suited to mobile DJs, small events, presentations, karaoke, outdoor gatherings, and other portable sound applications.

A 400-watt peak Class-D amplifier powers the ThumpSub GO, while the subwoofer is specified to reach 123 dB maximum peak SPL. Its frequency response is rated at 39 Hz to 100 Hz at -3 dB, supporting audible low-end reinforcement without requiring a large conventional subwoofer cabinet. Built-in limiting and thermal protection help manage operation at higher output levels.

Two hot-swappable battery compartments allow the subwoofer to operate from one or two GB-200 rechargeable batteries. One GB-200 battery is included and provides up to six hours of stated battery life, while a second optional battery can extend total stated runtime to up to 12 hours. Batteries can be replaced during operation as long as a charged battery remains installed in the other compartment.

The ThumpSub GO accepts wired sources through two balanced XLR/TRS combo inputs and can stream audio from a Bluetooth-enabled device. Its two balanced XLR outputs can feed connected loudspeakers, including speakers that do not have Bluetooth capability. Stereo and mono output modes, full-range or high-pass output selection, and phase inversion provide useful system-matching controls.

Designed to pair especially well with Mackie Thump GO loudspeakers, the ThumpSub GO can also support portable powered loudspeakers with low-frequency drivers up to 10 inches. Its slim format can be used horizontally or vertically on a floor or stage. A top-mounted socket accepts the optional Mackie SPM400 loudspeaker pole for compact satellite-speaker placement.

Design & Installation

The ThumpSub GO uses a slim, low-profile portable cabinet with an integrated top handle for carrying. It can be positioned vertically or horizontally to fit narrow spaces or low-clearance areas. Front, Bluetooth-status, battery-status, and overload indicators provide operating feedback.

Place the subwoofer on a stable floor or stage; it is not designed to be pole-mounted or suspended. Connect a mixer or source to the balanced combo inputs, then use the balanced XLR outputs to feed powered loudspeakers. Select high-pass output when feeding loudspeakers, use full-range output when daisy-chaining additional ThumpSub GO units, and use the optional SPM400 pole only to mount a compatible loudspeaker above the subwoofer.
