The EMB Professional EMC910B is a wired large-diaphragm condenser microphone for project-studio recording, broadcasting, and similar voice or instrument capture applications. Its cardioid pickup pattern focuses on sound arriving from the front while reducing pickup from the sides and rear. This makes it a practical choice when a more direct recording perspective is needed in a home or small-studio setup.

The EMC910B uses a condenser transducer and operates from 48V phantom power. Its stated 30 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response covers the standard audible range, while the -38 dB sensitivity is intended for detailed source capture. A 76 dB signal-to-noise ratio and 18 dBA equivalent noise specification support low-noise recording operation.

For louder sources, the microphone is rated for a maximum input level of 135 dB SPL and a 140 dB dynamic range. These stated figures make it suitable for recording speech, vocals, percussion, wind instruments, and other sources when appropriate gain staging is used. The 75-ohm output impedance and 3-pin XLR connection support use with compatible microphone preamps and audio interfaces.

Front-end controls include a low-cut filter plus sensitivity and high/low-frequency adjustments. The low-cut function can help reduce unwanted low-frequency rumble during recording. The additional adjustments provide onboard control options before the signal reaches the connected preamp or interface.

The EMC910B fits into an XLR-based recording system that provides 48V phantom power. It can be paired with a microphone stand, audio interface, mixer, or dedicated microphone preamp with a compatible XLR input. Included accessories support initial setup, while the shock mount helps isolate the microphone from stand-borne vibration.

Key Features

Design & Installation

The EMC910B has a zinc-alloy body and metal mesh grille, with a blue finish. A power indicator light provides visible operating-status feedback. Its large-diaphragm condenser design is housed in a stand-mountable studio microphone format.

Connect the microphone to a compatible 3-pin XLR microphone input using an appropriate XLR cable, then enable 48V phantom power on the connected interface, mixer, or preamp. Mount the microphone in the included shock mount and position its front toward the intended source. Use the low-cut filter where low-frequency rumble is present, and begin with conservative preamp gain before fine-tuning the onboard adjustments.
