The Mackie DRM215 is a 15-inch, 2-way powered loudspeaker built for professional live sound reinforcement. Its self-powered design combines amplification, processing, and drivers in one cabinet, reducing the need for separate amplifier racks. It is suited to mobile DJs, performers, venues, houses of worship, and installed PA systems that need broad coverage from a single full-range speaker.

A 15-inch high-excursion woofer handles the low-frequency range, while a 1.4-inch titanium-diaphragm compression driver supports vocal and high-frequency detail. The DRM215 is specified for a 43 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range at -10 dB and a maximum peak SPL of 135 dB. This makes it appropriate for music playback, speech reinforcement, stage monitoring, and main PA duties.

The built-in Class-D amplifier system is rated at 1600 watts peak, with dedicated low- and high-frequency amplifier sections. Mackie's Advanced Impulse DSP uses FIR filtering, precision crossover processing, and driver time alignment. These tools are designed to maintain consistent response across the speaker's coverage area.

The rear-panel DRM Control Dashboard uses a full-color display and a single rotating control for system configuration. Four voicing modes, a 3-band parametric EQ, selectable subwoofer high-pass filtering, and alignment delay allow the speaker to be tailored to the application. Six user presets can be saved and recalled for repeatable setups.

Two independent input channels accept mic, line, or instrument sources, and a dedicated 1/8-inch stereo input supports portable playback devices. Individual direct outputs and a mix output make it practical to feed additional powered loudspeakers. The DRM215 can operate on a floor, pole mount, or as a floor monitor, and it can be vertically flown in qualified installations.

Design & Installation

The DRM215 uses a plywood enclosure with an asymmetrical cabinet shape, black Polyurea finish, internal bracing, and a powder-coated perforated-steel grille. Side handles and a top handle support transport and placement. Its ported enclosure is designed to support low-frequency performance while directing airflow toward the internal amplifier section.

For setup, connect the supplied type of line-level, microphone, or instrument source to one of the input channels and connect the loudspeaker to a properly grounded AC outlet. Use the built-in pole socket for stand or pole mounting, place the cabinet on its angled side for monitor use, or use the integrated M10 mounting points only for professionally planned vertical flying. Direct Out and Mix Out connections can feed additional powered speakers when expanding a system.
