The Roland JUNO-D6 is a compact 61-key synthesizer for musicians who need a wide selection of playable sounds in a portable keyboard format. It combines synth-action, velocity-sensitive keys with Roland's ZEN-Core sound engine for live performance, rehearsal, songwriting, and home production. Its straightforward panel layout helps players reach core sound-shaping and performance functions without relying on a deep menu structure.
With more than 3,800 tones and more than 95 drum kits, the JUNO-D6 can cover piano, organ, synth, bass, orchestral, percussion, and electronic music roles from one instrument. Eight-part Scenes support single sounds, splits, layers, and more detailed multipart setups. Scene Remain helps preserve continuity when changing Scenes during a performance.
The JUNO-D6 includes an eight-track step sequencer for creating backing parts, patterns, and song ideas directly from the keyboard. It supports realtime, step, and TR-REC recording methods, with up to 64 steps per sequence. Rhythm patterns, arpeggio, chord memory, phrase pads, and audio-file playback provide additional tools for arranging and performing.
Hands-on control is provided through four Sound Modify knobs, four sliders, a pitch bend/modulation lever, and eight pads arranged as two groups of four. A 480 x 272 backlit color LCD provides visual feedback for sound selection, sequencing, and system functions. Built-in effects include multi-effects, part EQ, chorus, reverb, and dedicated microphone processing features.
For a performance or production setup, the JUNO-D6 connects to mixers and speakers through L/MONO and R main outputs, while a stereo headphone output supports private monitoring. It also provides microphone, external audio, MIDI, pedal, USB memory, and USB-C computer connections. The USB-C port supports class-compliant audio and MIDI operation and can also power the keyboard from a compatible USB-C power source.
