The Mackie THUMP12v4 is a self-powered 12-inch professional loudspeaker for portable PA, DJ playback, live music, speech, karaoke, and monitor applications. Its integrated Class-D amplifier and built-in mixer reduce the need for a separate power amplifier or small utility mixer. It is suited to performers, DJs, schools, houses of worship, venues, and event users who need a compact full-range sound-reinforcement speaker.

A 12-inch ferrite woofer and 1-inch high-temperature polymeric compression driver cover the full-range program material needed for vocals, music, and announcements. The THUMP12v4 is rated for a 47 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response at -3 dB and a 39 Hz to 20 kHz response at -10 dB. With up to 129 dB peak SPL, it is designed for applications where a portable speaker must provide substantial output.

SoundCheck DSP provides four selectable voicing modes: Flat, DJ, Live, and Wedge. These modes help adapt the speaker for neutral playback, music-focused playback, live reinforcement, or floor-monitor use. Outdoor Mode, Music Ducking, and Feedback Eliminator add practical tools for common event and performance setups.

The onboard mixer accepts microphones and line-level sources through two XLR/1/4-inch TRS combo inputs, plus a 1/8-inch TRS input. Bluetooth 5.0 supports wireless audio streaming and user-interface control through the Thump Connect 2 app. Two compatible Thumpv4 speakers can also be linked wirelessly for stereo, zone, or dual-mono playback.

The THUMP12v4 can serve as a standalone full-range speaker, a pair of main speakers, or a stage monitor when placed on its side at its 40-degree monitor angle. A balanced XLR mix output can feed another speaker or downstream device, including Bluetooth audio in the mix. For systems needing more low-frequency extension, it can be used with a powered subwoofer while handling midrange and high-frequency coverage.

Design & Installation

The THUMP12v4 uses a rugged enclosure with premium metal handles for transport. Its convection-cooled Class-D amplification, ferrite woofer, polymeric compression driver, and protection circuitry are contained in a 27.5-pound cabinet. Status LEDs indicate voicing mode, Outdoor Mode, Music Ducking, Feedback Eliminator, front LED, Bluetooth, link status, and signal/overload conditions.

Connect microphones, mixers, DJ controllers, keyboards, instruments, or playback devices to the rear-panel inputs, then use the XLR mix output to feed another speaker or device. The cabinet may be floor-mounted, pole-mounted through its bottom socket, or used as a wedge monitor at its 40-degree angle. It has three M10 fly points for qualified suspended installation; use appropriate M10 x 1.5 x 17 mm forged shoulder eyebolts and follow the owner's manual safety guidance.
