The EMB Professional PA2400 is a two-channel rack-mount power amplifier for PA, DJ, karaoke, band, and home-entertainment sound systems. It is designed to amplify line-level audio from a mixer, preamplifier, or other compatible source for use with passive speakers. Its listed maximum peak power rating is 1200 watts.

This amplifier is a practical option for systems that need separate channel level control and flexible professional-style connections. Individual Channel 1 and Channel 2 gain knobs allow the output level of each channel to be adjusted from the front panel. An AC power switch is also located on the front panel for direct operation.

The PA2400 uses Class A/B output circuitry. This traditional amplifier topology is paired with XLR and 1/4-inch input connections for integrating common mixers, audio processors, and preamplifiers. Speaker outputs are provided through Speakon connectors and banana binding posts.

Its 19-inch rack-mount format helps consolidate amplification with other audio equipment in a rack, case, or installed system. The chassis measures 18.9 inches wide, 11.42 inches deep, and 3.54 inches high. A rear cooling fan supports thermal management during operation.

The PA2400 fits naturally into a component-based sound system rather than replacing a source device or speaker processor. Pair it with a compatible line-level source, correctly matched passive speakers, and appropriate speaker cabling. Its selectable 115V/230V power arrangement supports use in systems configured for the applicable mains voltage.

Design & Installation

The PA2400 uses a black rack-mount chassis with front-panel power and channel gain controls. Its 2U-height enclosure is sized for standard 19-inch racks, while the rear panel places the audio inputs, speaker outputs, voltage selector, fuse holder, and cooling fan together. At approximately 13.5 pounds, it is suited to portable racks as well as fixed equipment installations.

Mount the amplifier securely with suitable rack screws and leave adequate space for cooling airflow around the fan area. With the amplifier powered off, connect a line-level source to the XLR or 1/4-inch inputs and connect passive speakers through Speakon or banana binding-post outputs. Confirm speaker impedance compatibility and set the rear voltage selector for the local power system before use.
