Emb - EBDMX1 - High Performance Dmx 512 Controller Stage Lighting

The EMB Professional EBDMX1 is a DMX512 lighting controller designed to centralize hands-on control of compatible stage, DJ, and event lighting fixtures. It provides 192 DMX control channels, helping users manage multiple fixtures from one console rather than adjusting each light individually. The layout is intended for programmed scenes as well as live manual adjustments during a performance.

This controller is suited to DJs, mobile entertainers, small venues, event setups, and users building a basic wired DMX lighting system. It supports up to 12 scanner or fixture groups with 16 channels assigned to each group. That structure makes it practical for fixtures that use separate channels for dimming, color, movement, effects, or other DMX-controlled functions.

For live operation, the EBDMX1 uses eight channel sliders with Page A and Page B selection for accessing channel sets. Dedicated speed and fade-time controls support automated scene transitions, allowing the timing of programmed looks to be adjusted without changing fixture settings. A blackout function is also provided for quickly disabling output during use.

The console stores scenes in 30 banks with eight programmable scenes per bank, for up to 240 stored scenes. It also provides six programmable chases for sequencing stored lighting looks. Automatic and sound-control operation give users alternatives to constant manual control when a repeating or music-responsive presentation is preferred.

The EBDMX1 fits into a conventional wired DMX512 chain between its power supply and compatible lighting fixtures. Connect its DMX output to the first fixture, then daisy-chain additional fixtures as required by the lighting system. It is a lighting-control product, not a car stereo, amplifier, speaker, or audio signal processor.

Design & Installation

The EBDMX1 uses a console-style control surface with scanner-selection buttons, scene and chase controls, eight sliders, speed and fade-time sliders, and a four-digit LED display. Its control layout is designed to keep manual fixture adjustments and stored-program recall accessible from the same unit. Published information identifies internal memory, a built-in microphone for sound control, and a DMX polarity selector.

Connect the controller's DMX output to the DMX input of the first compatible fixture using a 3-pin DMX cable, then daisy-chain additional fixtures from fixture to fixture. Set fixture addresses and DMX operating modes to correspond with the controller setup before programming scenes. The supplied DC power supply is used to power the controller; a DMX terminator at the end of a longer DMX chain may help maintain stable signal operation.
