EMB ES502B 5.25" Indoor/Outdoor 2-Way Speakers

The EMB Professional ES502B is a pair of compact wired 5.25-inch speakers for indoor and covered outdoor audio installations. It provides a surface-mount alternative for patios, garages, pool-adjacent areas, workshops, entertainment spaces, and indoor rooms where floor speakers are impractical. The black cabinets are intended to blend into installations that call for a restrained appearance.

Each speaker uses a 2-way design with a 5.25-inch polypropylene woofer and a separate 1.5-inch piezo dome tweeter. The woofer uses a rubber surround, while the tweeter handles high-frequency information. This arrangement is designed to provide full-range stereo playback from a compact speaker pair.

The ES502B is specified at 250 watts RMS and 500 watts maximum power handling with a nominal 8-ohm impedance. It is a passive wired speaker system, so it requires connection to a compatible stereo receiver or external amplifier. Use the pair as left and right channels and select amplification appropriate for an 8-ohm speaker load.

For seasonal and semi-exposed installations, the speakers use UV-treated ABS enclosures with a UV-resistant resin coating. Their construction is described as water-splash resistant, making them suitable for protected outdoor locations. They are not specified as waterproof for immersion or unrestricted exposure to severe weather.

Included multi-angle metal mounting brackets allow the cabinets to be secured and aimed toward the listening area. Binding posts support standard speaker wire, while banana plugs can also be used for convenient connections. The ES502B is a practical option when a fixed stereo speaker pair is needed without adding a built-in amplifier, wireless receiver, or battery system.

Design & Installation

The ES502B uses black ABS enclosures, removable aluminum grilles, polypropylene woofers, rubber woofer surrounds, and 1.5-inch piezo dome tweeters. A UV-resistant resin coating and UV-treated cabinet are specified for all-weather-oriented use. The rotating logo can remain correctly oriented when the speaker is mounted vertically or horizontally.

Mount each cabinet with the included metal swivel bracket and supplied hardware on a suitably strong surface, then aim both speakers toward the primary listening position before tightening the bracket. Run speaker wire from a compatible amplifier or receiver to the binding posts, observing positive and negative polarity at both ends. For outdoor use, place the speakers where they are protected from direct, sustained water exposure and use wiring suited to the installation environment.
