The Arturia MiniFuse 4 Black is a compact USB audio and MIDI interface for recording instruments, microphones, synthesizers, and computer audio into a Mac or Windows production setup. Its four analog inputs and four line outputs give creators more routing flexibility than a basic two-channel interface. It is suited to home studios, mobile recording rigs, podcasting, streaming, and hardware-synth workflows.
Two front-panel combo inputs accommodate microphones, line-level sources, or direct instruments, while two additional rear-panel balanced line inputs support stereo keyboards, drum machines, and other line-level gear. Selectable instrument mode provides the correct high-impedance input path for guitars and basses with pickups. Shared 48V phantom power supports compatible condenser microphones connected to the front inputs.
The MiniFuse 4 supports recording and playback sample rates up to 192 kHz, with measured low distortion and wide dynamic-range performance across its input and output stages. Its microphone preamps offer up to 56 dB of gain and a stated equivalent input noise of -129 dB typical, A-weighted. This makes it a practical front end for clean vocal, instrument, and line-level capture.
For monitoring, the interface provides four balanced 1/4-inch line outputs and two independently controlled 1/4-inch stereo headphone outputs. Headphone output 1 mirrors outputs 1 and 2, while headphone output 2 mirrors outputs 3 and 4. Outputs 3 and 4 are DC-coupled for compatible control-voltage hardware.
MiniFuse Control Center provides access to input metering, direct monitoring, custom monitor mixes, routing, and loopback functions. The stereo virtual loopback channel can route computer audio into recording software for voiceovers, livestreams, tutorials, and content creation. Standard 5-pin MIDI input and output connections also integrate MIDI-equipped synths, drum machines, and controllers with a computer-based studio.
Key Features
- 4-In/4-Out Audio: Connect microphones, instruments, line sources, speakers, and external processors in one desktop interface.
- Two Combo Inputs: Front-panel inputs accept XLR microphones, line-level gear, or direct instrument connections.
- 48V Phantom Power: Supplies power for compatible condenser microphones connected to the two combo inputs.
- Dual Headphone Outputs: Provides two separately level-controlled headphone feeds for monitoring different output pairs.
- Virtual Loopback: Captures computer audio alongside microphones or instruments for recording and streaming workflows.
- MIDI And USB Hub: Adds 5-pin MIDI I/O and two USB Type-A hub ports for connected studio devices.
Design & Installation
The MiniFuse 4 uses a compact desktop format measuring 250 x 85 x 43 mm and weighing 0.57 kg. Its front panel places gain controls, instrument switches, phantom-power control, monitor level, and independent headphone level controls within easy reach. Arturia backs the MiniFuse range with a 5-year hardware warranty.
Connect the interface to a compatible computer using USB-C, then select MiniFuse 4 as the audio input and output device in the operating system or DAW. Use balanced 1/4-inch TRS cables for active monitors or other balanced line-level equipment, and connect microphones, guitars, and synths to the appropriate input type. The supplied external power supply is required when using the built-in USB hub ports; the interface itself can otherwise operate from USB bus power.

Can I connect microphones and guitars at the same time?
Yes. The two front combo inputs accept microphones, line-level sources, or direct instruments. Each input has its own gain control and selectable instrument mode.
Does the MiniFuse 4 work with condenser microphones?
Yes, it has a 48V phantom-power switch for the two front combo inputs. Confirm that your microphone requires phantom power before enabling it.
Can I use two sets of headphones?
Yes. It has two 1/4-inch stereo headphone outputs with separate volume controls. Headphone 1 mirrors outputs 1 and 2, while headphone 2 mirrors outputs 3 and 4.
Do the USB Type-A hub ports work on bus power?
No. Arturia states that the hub ports function only when the MiniFuse 4 is powered by its external power supply. The interface itself can operate from USB bus power.
What is included in the box?
The package includes the audio interface, a USB-C to USB-A cable, an optional power supply unit, regional power adapters, and access to the included software bundle. Software registration and installation are required for the bundled applications.
What computers are compatible?
It supports Windows 10 or later 64-bit and macOS 10.13 or later 64-bit. Arturia lists 4 GB RAM minimum and recommends 8 GB or more.
