The Arturia MINIBRUTE2S is a semi-modular analog synthesizer with an integrated step sequencer for hands-on sound creation, sequencing, and CV/Gate control. It combines a two-VCO analog voice with a 48-point patchbay, letting users work immediately with its internal signal routing or explore custom patch configurations. The pad-based interface replaces a conventional keyboard with a performance-focused sequencer section.

This instrument suits electronic musicians, producers, and modular users who want a standalone analog synth that can also interact with Eurorack and other CV/Gate equipment. Sixteen velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads can be used to enter notes and sequence steps, while 16 encoders provide direct editing control. Its 64 sequence memories support saving and recalling patterns during a session or performance.

The sound engine combines VCO 1 waveform mixing with a second analog oscillator, white noise, external audio input, and a Steiner-Parker filter. VCO 1 offers saw, square, and triangle sources with UltraSaw, pulse-width, and Metalizer shaping functions, while VCO 2 supplies sine, saw, and square waveforms. The 12 dB-per-octave filter provides low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and notch modes for tonal shaping.

Two sync-capable LFOs, ADSR and AD envelopes, oscillator hard sync, and linear and exponential FM provide multiple ways to animate a patch. The AD envelope supports trigger or gate operation, one-shot or loop behavior, and CV control over attack and decay times. The 48-point patchbay includes voice and sequencer inputs and outputs, plus inverter, attenuator, and VCA utility functions.

MINIBRUTE2S can serve as the analog voice and sequencing center of a compact desktop setup or a growing modular system. MIDI In/Out and USB I/O support connection with DAWs and MIDI hardware, while line and headphone outputs provide audio monitoring options. It is also compatible with Arturia RackBrute 3U and 6U systems for adding powered Eurorack space.

Key Features

  • Two Analog VCOs: Blend multiple oscillator waveforms, noise, and external audio for flexible sound sources.
  • Steiner-Parker Filter: Select low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, or notch filtering with 12 dB-per-octave response.
  • 48-Point Patchbay: Route CV and Gate signals internally or connect compatible modular equipment.
  • Three-Track Sequencer: Sequence pitch, gate, velocity, pressure, and modulation across up to 64 steps.
  • Expressive Pad Interface: Use 16 velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads for note entry and step programming.
  • MIDI And USB I/O: Integrate the synth with DAWs, MIDI devices, and external synchronization sources.

Design & Installation

The MINIBRUTE2S uses a compact desktop format measuring 19 x 11 x 2.2 inches and weighing 7.7 lb. Arturia does not publish a chassis-material specification, but the instrument is designed around a clearly divided control surface with dedicated oscillator, filter, modulation, patchbay, and sequencer sections. Its 16 pads and 16 encoders keep primary performance and sequence-editing controls on the front panel.

Place the unit on a stable desktop or workstation and power it with the included 12V DC, 2.5A center-positive adapter. Connect headphones or an external monitoring system through the headphone or line output, then use MIDI DIN, USB, or analog clock as needed for sync. The box includes eight patch cables for the patchbay; additional compatible patch cables and optional RackBrute hardware can expand modular routing and Eurorack integration.
