The Arturia MICROBRUTE UFO is a limited-edition monophonic analog synthesizer designed for hands-on sound creation in a compact desktop format. It gives musicians a direct way to build basses, leads, percussion tones, and experimental textures without navigating software menus. Its 25-note mini-key keyboard, onboard sequencer, and physical controls make it well suited to studio writing, live performance, and hardware-based setups.

A 100% analog audio signal path gives the MICROBRUTE UFO its immediate, characterful response. Its single voltage-controlled oscillator can blend sawtooth, square, and triangle waveforms, while the overtone generator adds an octave-down or fifth-up layer. Ultrasaw, pulse-width modulation, and Metalizer wave shaping provide additional harmonic variation before the signal reaches the filter.

The Steiner-Parker multimode filter offers low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass modes for shaping the synth's frequency content. Resonance can reach self-oscillation, while the Brute Factor control introduces an internal feedback-style drive effect. Together, these controls support everything from rounded low-end parts to sharper, more animated tones.

MICROBRUTE UFO includes a patchable modulation matrix for routing its envelope and LFO to sound-shaping destinations. Standard 1V-per-octave CV connections also allow it to exchange pitch, gate, envelope, and LFO signals with compatible analog and modular equipment. This makes the instrument useful as both a standalone monosynth and a compact voice within a larger CV/Gate system.

The onboard step sequencer stores eight patterns with up to 64 steps per memory, giving users a practical way to create repeating musical phrases. MIDI input, USB MIDI, line input, line output, and headphone output support integration with controllers, computers, mixers, and other instruments. The UFO edition retains the MicroBrute architecture in a space-black finish with Martian-green detailing and a steel bottom panel.

Key Features

  • 100% Analog Signal Path: Creates sound with analog circuitry for direct, responsive tone shaping.
  • Multi-Waveform VCO: Mix saw, square, triangle, and overtone sources for layered timbres.
  • Steiner-Parker Filter: Select low-pass, band-pass, or high-pass filtering with resonant character.
  • Brute Factor Drive: Adds controllable internal feedback-style saturation and harmonic density.
  • Patchable Mod Matrix: Routes envelope and LFO signals to onboard or external CV destinations.
  • 64-Step Sequencer: Stores eight sequences for repeatable patterns, performance, and composition.

Design & Installation

The MICROBRUTE UFO uses a compact keyboard-synth layout with dedicated knobs, sliders, switches, pitch wheel, modulation wheel, and a steel bottom panel. Its limited-edition finish combines a space-black exterior with Martian-green accents. The physical control layout keeps oscillator, filter, envelope, LFO, sequencing, and patching functions immediately accessible.

Connect the 1/4-inch line output to a mixer, audio interface, or amplifier, or use the rear headphone output for private monitoring. The rear line-level audio input can route an external source through the MicroBrute filter and amplifier; guitars and microphones require a suitable preamp. Use the included 12V DC, 1A center-positive power supply, connect MIDI or USB MIDI as needed, and use 3.5 mm patch cables for CV/Gate integration.
