The Arturia KeyLab 49 mk3 is a 49-key universal MIDI controller for hands-on music production, composition, and performance. It combines an expressive semi-weighted keyboard with dedicated controls for instruments, effects, and DAW workflows. The white finish provides a clean, studio-friendly appearance while retaining the same full control layout.

Built for producers, keyboard players, and composers, KeyLab 49 mk3 helps reduce reliance on mouse-driven editing. Its velocity-sensitive keys, aftertouch response, pads, faders, and encoders let users play parts and adjust parameters directly from the controller. This makes it suitable for programming drums, recording MIDI, shaping sounds, and controlling mixes.

The keyboard uses a redesigned synth-action, semi-weighted keybed with release-velocity sensitivity and aftertouch. This gives performances more dynamic control than basic MIDI keyboards, including response to playing pressure after a note is held. Pitch-bend and modulation wheels add further real-time expression for software instruments and compatible hardware.

KeyLab 49 mk3 includes 12 RGB pads, nine touch-sensitive rotary encoders, and nine touch-sensitive faders for practical control over clips, samples, levels, and sound parameters. A full-color 3.5-inch display and eight contextual buttons provide visual feedback when navigating sounds, settings, and mapped functions. Integrated Chord, Scale, Arpeggiator, and Hold functions support quick musical idea development.

USB-C connectivity makes KeyLab 49 mk3 a natural fit for computer-based studios, while 5-pin MIDI input and output help it work with external MIDI equipment. It supports direct integration with major DAWs and Arturia software, plus MCU/HUI control and user-program customization. The included software bundle gives a new setup access to instruments, production software, effects, lessons, and sample services.

Design & Installation

KeyLab 49 mk3 is built with high-density plastic, ruggedized knobs, and real-wood side panels. Its white chassis houses a semi-weighted keybed, responsive pads, full-color display, pitch and modulation wheels, and a front-panel control layout designed for production or live use. A Kensington security slot is included for use with a compatible lock.

Connect the controller to a computer with the included USB-C to USB-A cable for USB power and MIDI communication. For external instruments, use the 5-pin MIDI input and output, and connect an optional pedal to the assignable control input for sustain, modulation, or expression. Install the included software and supported DAW integration script as needed, then use Arturia MIDI Control Center for configuration and user-program management.
