Arturia Drumbrute Impact Analog Drum Machine

The Arturia DrumBrute Impact is a standalone analog drum machine for creating, sequencing, and performing electronic rhythms without relying on software instruments. It combines hands-on drum sound controls with a step sequencer, making it useful for building beats quickly in a studio or live setup. Its 10 drum instruments cover kick, snares, toms, hats, cymbal, cowbell, and an FM drum voice.

This instrument is designed for producers, performers, and hardware-based musicians who want direct control over rhythm programming. Eight velocity-sensitive pads let users play sounds in real time or enter notes into patterns. The sequencer stores 64 patterns across four banks and supports patterns up to 64 steps long.

DrumBrute Impact delivers analog percussion voices with adjustable tone, pitch, decay, level, and instrument-specific Color functions. Its master output includes a switchable distortion circuit for changing the overall character of the mix. Separate accent control per drum track helps create stronger dynamic contrast within programmed rhythms.

The built-in sequencer supports song chaining, per-instrument swing, randomness, pattern looping, roller effects, and polyrhythms. In Polyrhythm mode, each instrument track can use its own loop length for more complex rhythmic structures. Color can also be assigned per step, allowing sound changes to occur inside a pattern.

For integration, DrumBrute Impact provides MIDI, USB MIDI, analog clock connections, a master mix output, headphone output, and four individual instrument output groups. It can synchronize with computers, DAWs, MIDI hardware, modular systems, and compatible clock-based instruments. Individual outputs make it practical to route selected drum groups to separate mixer channels or external effects processors.

DrumBrute Impact uses a compact desktop format with dedicated sound controls, transport buttons, a tempo display, 16 step buttons, and eight velocity-sensitive performance pads. Its interface is arranged for direct pattern editing and live adjustment rather than menu-heavy operation. The unit measures 13.5 x 9.6 x 2.2 inches and weighs 4 pounds.

Place the unit on a stable desktop, performance table, or equipment shelf and connect the included 12V DC power supply. Run the mix output to a mixer, audio interface, monitor system, or effects chain, and use MIDI, USB, or clock connections for synchronization. When using individual outputs, the assigned drum group is removed from the master mix and headphone signal, allowing separate external processing.
