The Arturia ASTROLAB 88 is an 88-key stage keyboard designed to bring a broad performance-ready sound library into a self-contained instrument. It is aimed at keyboard players who want piano-style action alongside synth, organ, acoustic, and layered sounds without relying on a computer during a set. Its onboard browsing, preset access, and performance controls help keep sound selection direct in rehearsal, studio, and live environments.

A weighted Fatar TP-40L hammer-action keybed with piano-size keys, triple sensors, and aftertouch gives the ASTROLAB 88 a playing feel suited to expressive piano parts as well as dynamic synth performance. The instrument combines 11 sound engines and more than 1,800 built-in sounds drawn from 44 reference instruments. This gives players access to virtual analog, sampled, FM, wavetable, physical-modeling, vocoder, and other synthesis approaches from one keyboard.

ASTROLAB 88 is built around quick musical control rather than deep menu work. Ten preset buttons provide immediate sound access, while four macro controls adjust Brightness, Timbre, Time, and Movement. Dedicated effects controls, including Delay and Reverb, support practical real-time changes while playing.

For arranging a performance, the keyboard supports multis and keyboard splits, allowing two sounds to be played together or assigned across separate ranges. Chord and Scale modes, an arpeggiator, Hold, and a MIDI looper add tools for building parts and maintaining rhythmic ideas. A navigation wheel and screen provide visual feedback when browsing sounds, playlists, and settings.

The ASTROLAB 88 fits into a larger Arturia workflow through included Analog Lab Pro and AstroLab Connect. Custom sounds, multis, macros, and playlists can be organized for use on the hardware, while Bluetooth audio input and Wi-Fi support flexible practice and wireless management. MIDI, USB, pedal connections, balanced outputs, headphones, and audio inputs allow it to integrate with stage rigs, DAWs, external MIDI hardware, and microphones or line-level sources.

The ASTROLAB 88 uses a road-ready metal chassis and a full-size weighted keybed designed for players who prefer a piano-oriented response. Its front-panel layout combines a central navigation wheel and screen with dedicated preset, macro, effects, pitch, modulation, and octave controls. At 22.2 kg, it is a substantial keyboard that benefits from a stable, appropriately rated stand or keyboard case.

Connect the balanced 1/4-inch TRS line outputs to a mixer, stage box, powered monitors, or audio interface, and use the 1/4-inch headphone output for private monitoring. MIDI DIN I/O and USB-C support computer and external MIDI integration, while USB-A operates as a host port for compatible devices or storage workflows. Up to four pedals can be connected for sustain, expression, and two auxiliary control assignments; the included power supply, USB cable, music stand, documentation, and registration card support initial setup.
