EMB JH3308 Wireless Overhead Microphone System

The EMB JH3308 is a VHF wireless overhead microphone system for hands-free vocal use. It combines an adjustable headset microphone, bodypack-style transmitter, and receiver in one package. This setup is intended for performers and presenters who need to move freely without holding a microphone.

The lightweight overhead headband keeps the microphone positioned near the mouth while leaving the user's hands available for instruments, movement, or other tasks. It is suited to vocal applications such as singing, speaking, keyboard performance, drumming, guitar performance, and dance instruction. A moisture shield is included on the microphone assembly to help protect the capsule from perspiration during active use.

The system operates in the 110–120 MHz VHF carrier-frequency range. Its listed 50 Hz–15 kHz frequency response covers a practical vocal range, while the receiver provides a specified 400 mV audio output. Receiver sensitivity is rated at 35 dBu.

A mini XLR microphone connection links the headset microphone to the transmitter. The wireless design separates the performer's microphone position from the receiving location, allowing the receiver to be placed near the rest of the audio equipment. The transmitter is listed with an 8 mV output specification.

Design & Installation

The JH3308 uses a wearable overhead microphone format with an adjustable headband and a moisture-protection feature at the microphone capsule. Its mini XLR connection is intended to couple the headset microphone with its transmitter. The receiver handles wireless signal reception and provides the specified audio output for connection to compatible sound equipment.

Fit the headband so the microphone remains positioned close to the mouth without obstructing movement, then connect the headset's mini XLR plug to the transmitter. Place the receiver near the mixer, PA, or other compatible audio input and use an appropriate audio connection for the receiving equipment. Because the receiver is listed for AC 220 V operation, verify local mains compatibility and any required power conversion before use.
