The EMB Professional EMIC-DK7 is a seven-piece wired microphone kit designed for miking a complete drum set. It combines a dedicated large drum microphone, four compact drum microphones, and two overhead-style condenser microphones. This arrangement gives drummers, rehearsal spaces, and small live-sound setups a coordinated set of microphones for capturing individual kit sections.

The kit is intended for practical drum-miking applications where separate microphones are needed for kick drum, snare or toms, and cymbal or overall kit coverage. The large drum microphone has a listed 20 Hz-10 kHz frequency response for low-frequency drum duties. Four small drum microphones extend to a listed 16 kHz, making them suitable for close placement on snare and tom drums.

Two included condenser microphones provide an additional option for overhead or ambient drum placement. Their listed 60 Hz-16 kHz response supports coverage of cymbals and the overall upper-frequency character of the kit. The condensers have a listed maximum input SPL of 136 dB when using phantom power.

All microphones use standard XLR connectivity, allowing connection to compatible mixers, audio interfaces, stage boxes, or microphone preamps. The dynamic drum microphones are specified with unidirectional polar patterns, helping focus pickup toward the intended drum source. The condenser microphones are also listed with a unidirectional polar pattern.

The EMIC-DK7 includes the mounting accessories needed to begin positioning the microphones around a drum kit. Four clamps are supplied for the small drum microphones, while two holders and two windscreens are included for the condenser microphones. It is a wired kit for users who need multiple drum-miking positions without sourcing each microphone and mount separately.

The kit combines three microphone formats for different drum-miking roles: one large dynamic microphone, four small dynamic microphones, and two condenser microphones. The product is supplied as a wired XLR microphone set rather than a wireless system.

Connect each microphone to an available XLR microphone input on a mixer, interface, or preamp using appropriate XLR cables, which are not listed among the included accessories. Use the supplied clamps for snare or tom placement, and position the condensers in their holders for overhead or room coverage. When using the condenser microphones with phantom power, use a compatible 9V-48V phantom-power source; the listed operating option also includes one 1.5V battery per condenser microphone.
