Audiobank P1502 2-Channel Class AB Car Amplifier

The Audiobank P1502 is a two-channel Class A-B amplifier for adding external power to a 12-volt vehicle audio system. It is suited to stereo speaker upgrades or a single compatible subwoofer or speaker in bridged mono operation. Line-level and speaker-level inputs provide connection options for a range of source units.

For a conventional two-speaker installation, the P1502 is rated at 175 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms. It is also specified as stable at 2 ohms per channel, with a maximum rating of 750 watts per channel at 2 ohms. This makes it appropriate for systems that need more amplification and adjustment capability than a head unit alone provides.

The amplifier can be configured for bridged operation with a compatible 4-ohm load. Its published bridged maximum rating is 1,500 watts x 1 at 4 ohms. Tri-mode capability adds another installation option for compatible speaker configurations.

Variable low-pass and high-pass crossover controls help tailor the amplified frequency range to the connected speakers. The low-pass filter adjusts from 40Hz to 300Hz, while the high-pass filter adjusts from 80Hz to 4kHz. A variable 0 to +12dB bass boost and continuously variable gain control support system setup and level matching.

The P1502 uses a MOSFET pulse-width-modulated power supply and a heavy-duty aluminum alloy heatsink. Soft turn-on, thermal protection, and speaker-short protection are included to support normal operation. Power and protection LEDs provide visible amplifier status after installation.

Mount the P1502 securely in a dry, ventilated location with clearance around the heatsink. Use the amplifier with a 12-volt electrical system, correctly sized wiring, and fuse protection; the amplifier itself uses two 20A fuses. For stereo operation, use compatible speaker loads per channel; for bridged operation, connect one compatible 4-ohm load according to the terminal markings.
