Mackie THUMPGO 8" Portable Battery-Powered Loudspeaker

The Mackie THUMPGO is an 8-inch portable battery-powered loudspeaker designed for clear, self-contained sound reinforcement where AC power may not be convenient. It combines a built-in mixer, Bluetooth audio streaming, and a removable rechargeable battery in a compact powered PA format. It is suited to small performances, presentations, karaoke, parties, rehearsals, and portable playback setups.

An 8-inch high-output woofer and 1-inch polymer compression driver are powered by a 200-watt peak Class-D amplifier system. The speaker is specified for a 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range at -10 dB and a 115 dB maximum peak SPL. Its 90-degree horizontal by 60-degree vertical coverage is intended to project sound across a small audience area.

The THUMPGO gives performers and hosts practical input flexibility without requiring a separate mixer for simple setups. Two XLR/1/4-inch combo inputs accept balanced connections, while channel 2 also supports a 3.5 mm stereo input. Bluetooth streaming adds a cable-free option for music playback and wireless control through the Thump Connect 2 app.

Built-in processing helps tailor the speaker to common applications. Four voicing modes include Music, Speech, Monitor, and Sub, while Outdoor mode adjusts operation for outdoor use. Feedback Eliminator and Music Ducking are also provided to help manage spoken announcements and microphone-based setups.

The included removable lithium-ion battery supports up to 12 hours of operation, with a tri-color rear-panel battery indicator for at-a-glance status. A second THUMPGO can be linked wirelessly for stereo or dual-mono playback, or another speaker can be fed from the balanced XLR thru output. For expanded low-frequency support, the THUMPGO can be used with a compatible subwoofer and set to its Sub voicing mode.

Design & Installation

The THUMPGO uses an asymmetrical polypropylene enclosure with a textured black finish, a perforated metal grille with weather-resistant coating, and a powder-coated black grille finish. It has one integrated handle and weighs 17.6 pounds, helping make it practical for portable use. The cabinet can also be positioned on its side as a 45-degree floor monitor.

Place the THUMPGO on the floor, on a stable pole through its built-in bottom socket, or in its wedge monitor position. Connect microphones or line-level sources to the combo inputs, use the 3.5 mm input for compatible stereo playback sources, or pair a Bluetooth device for streaming. The enclosure is not designed for suspension and has no rigging points; do not fly it or suspend it by its handle.
