JVC KS-DR1004D Compact 4-Channel Class D Amplifier

The JVC KS-DR1004D is a compact four-channel Class D amplifier designed to add external power where space is limited. It is suited to compact cars, motorcycles, UTVs, and marine or motorsports audio installations. With four amplified channels, it can power a full speaker system or be configured for bridged two-channel operation.

JVC applies conformal coating to the main circuit boards for added protection against moisture and condensation exposure. Separate pre-amplifier and power-amplifier circuit boards are used to reduce radiation noise. A large low-pass-filter coil and adjustable crossover controls support a more tailored system setup.

The KS-DR1004D accepts either RCA-level or speaker-level input, making it usable with aftermarket or factory-installed head units. Its signal-sensing turn-on function can activate the amplifier from a high-level input signal, so a separate remote-turn-on connection is not required in that configuration. Use the variable high-pass and low-pass filters to configure speaker channels, a bridged speaker pair, or a two-channel-plus-subwoofer arrangement.

Install the amplifier on a secure location with airflow for heat dissipation, away from direct water splash, excessive heat, dust, and direct sunlight. It requires a 12V negative-ground electrical system, proper chassis grounding, and a 15A fuse. For speaker-level installation, the factory head unit output may be up to 50W and the signal-sensing turn-on function can eliminate the need for a power-control wire.
