Its specified 25 to 400 Hz frequency response covers the low-frequency range typically assigned to a vehicle subwoofer.

The enclosure uses Hertz's 2S², or 2 Sides/2 Sounds, installation concept. It can be positioned up-firing for a more direct, defined bass character, or down-firing with the supplied leveling feet to extend low-frequency response. This flexibility helps adapt the enclosure to available space and the acoustic behavior of different vehicles.

Hertz builds the enclosure with 15 mm wood panels, internal panel-to-panel bracing, solid corners, and sound-absorbing material. Its polypropylene cone, rubber surround, high-density-flux ferrite motor, and single copper voice coil are housed in a compact enclosure with internal sound-absorbing material. The included mesh grille helps protect the woofer, while rounded corners and a removable terminal block support clean installation and service access.

Connect this passive enclosure to a dedicated subwoofer amplifier channel that is rated for a 2-ohm load and appropriately matched to its 500-watt continuous power capability. Use a low-pass crossover in the amplifier or DSP to integrate it with the vehicle's main speakers, then test both up-firing and down-firing positions before finalizing placement. For down-firing use, install the supplied leveling feet with their hook-and-loop inserts so the enclosure has the intended clearance from the vehicle floor.
