Gravity GCS700 Dual 4-Inch Center Channel Speaker

The Gravity GCS700 is a passive center channel speaker for home-theater and receiver-based audio systems. It adds a dedicated speaker for center-channel material, such as dialogue and on-screen effects, when connected to a compatible AV receiver or amplifier. Its compact horizontal form is designed for placement near a television or within an entertainment cabinet.

This speaker is intended for listeners building or expanding a surround-sound system with separate left, right, surround, and subwoofer components. It uses an 8-ohm design for connection to compatible speaker-level amplifier outputs. Because it is passive, it requires external amplification and does not provide built-in wireless playback.

The GCS700 uses two 4-inch polypropylene-cone woofers with rubber edges and a 0.75-inch silk dome tweeter. This driver arrangement handles the midrange, upper bass, and high-frequency content associated with a center-channel role. Its published frequency response is 60 Hz to 20 kHz, with an 84 dB sensitivity rating.

Power handling is rated at 75 watts RMS and 150 watts maximum. An electronic crossover network with a published 12 dB-per-octave slope divides the audio signal between the woofer and tweeter sections. The speaker's vented enclosure supports low-frequency output within its compact cabinet format.

The enclosure is constructed from MDF and finished in black vinyl for a conventional home-audio appearance. At 15.7 inches wide, the GCS700 can fit on many TV stands, shelves, and entertainment centers. It is a practical component for a compatible surround receiver system where a dedicated wired center speaker is needed.

Design & Installation

The GCS700 has a horizontal MDF enclosure with a black vinyl finish and vented cabinet design. Its front driver array combines two 4-inch woofers with a centrally positioned 0.75-inch silk dome tweeter. The published cabinet dimensions are 15.7 inches wide, 8.6 inches high, and 6.3 inches deep.

Connect the speaker to the center-channel output of a compatible AV receiver or amplifier using speaker wire. Confirm that the amplifier is suitable for an 8-ohm speaker load, then set the receiver's center-channel level during system calibration. Place the cabinet above or below the display and aim it toward the primary listening position when possible.
