The Ausdom AD118 is a compact front-facing car DVR dash camera designed to document drives with Full HD video recording. Its 2-inch TFT display provides an onboard view for framing, reviewing clips, and changing settings. It is suited to drivers who want a straightforward camera for routine road recording without adding a multimedia receiver or complex vehicle electronics.

The AD118 records at up to 1920 x 1080 resolution at 30 frames per second and uses a 120-degree wide-angle lens to cover a broad view ahead of the vehicle. A 1/5-inch low-noise image sensor and wide dynamic range processing are intended to help it adapt to changing lighting conditions. Day and night mode switching further supports use across daytime and nighttime drives.

For continuous use on the road, seamless loop recording saves video in selectable time segments and continues recording as storage is managed. The camera also includes an SOS lock function that can protect the current recording from loop overwrite. Motion detection provides an additional recording option when activity is detected in front of the camera.

The AD118 captures video with optional audio through its built-in microphone and speaker, while a quick mute control lets the driver turn microphone recording on or off during video capture. Video is stored in AVI format, and still images can be saved as JPEG files. The camera supports photo capture as well as video recording, making it useful for documenting road scenes or vehicle-related images.

Designed as a self-contained dash camera, the AD118 uses a removable microSD card for local recording and connects through USB 2.0 for charging or file transfer. An HDMI output allows compatible television playback, and PC Camera mode can be selected when connected to a computer. Its integrated rechargeable lithium-ion battery is rated at 280mAh and can be charged during video recording. Physical controls provide access to video, photo, playback, menu, mute, SOS lock, and zoom functions.

Mount the camera with the included car holder in a position that preserves a clear forward road view and does not obstruct the driver's view. Use a compatible microSD or microSDHC card from 2GB to 32GB; the manual recommends a high-speed Class 6 SDHC card.
